Official BCL Fines Meeting Rules

A fines meeting will take place (possibly two) on the weekend of BCL. Everyone must be in attendance. Fines meetings need to be short and sharp – no one likes a drawn-out session. Therefore those that do not keep decorum will be punished.

Structure

  • Fines Master – is responsible for running the meeting and ensuring that the meeting has good momentum and gees. They have absolute power and veto. Unless there is a town uprising.
  • Scilachi – is responsible for identifying individuals that bring the meeting into disrepute. They punish these miscreants with fines.
  • Song Master – is responsible for ensuring that each fine goes down with a song – whether they sing the song or nominate someone.
  • Pourer – is responsible for pouring fines without spillage, or delay. Or else here’s to the pourer, the pourer.
  • Cuntin – is Cuntin and chooses to stand next to the fines master serving no purpose other than making the fines master’s job tougher.

The Fines

  • Standard Fine – a person must down half a beer
  • Major Fine – a person must down a full beer
  • Boat Race – multiple people race to down a full beer. The last person to finish their beer, has half a beer or a punisher shot.
  • Rumbler – a person must down a warm beer with a shot of Red Heart Rum in it.
  • Punisher – a shot of something disgusting, often used by the Scilachi to punish people.

Agenda

  1. Opening – Fines Master opens the meeting with a standard fine.
  2. Submitted Fines – fines submitted online.
  3. Floor Fines – fines are opened up to the floor. In order, each person may nominate a fine.
  4. Mr & Mrs BCL – a vote for the best and worst BCL boys of the year.

Base Rules

  1. Attire
    1. Each person shall bring a unique hat.
    2. The hat shall only cover the top of your head – your face (mouth, nose, eyes) must be visible.
    3. The punishment for lack of a hat, or a hat of non-unique nature, is a Rumbler.
  2. Decorum
    1. No cell phones are allowed (the Royal Cinematographer is the only one allowed with a cell phone).
    2. People caught on their cell phones will get a Punisher.
    3. Respect and decorum to be upheld during the meeting. This means no speaking whilst the Fines Master is speaking, or when another fine is being handed out.
    4. Those who bring the meeting into disrepute will get a Punisher. They will also be sentenced to the naughty corner for 5 mins.
    5. Multiple transgressions will result in Rumbler.
  3. Fines
    1. If a person has a fine or wishes to speak they must raise their hand – speaking out of turn will result in a Standard Fine.
    2. Major Fines and Rumblers may be argued in a court of cunts.
      1. The defendant (the person being fined) may choose a lawyer to take his case.
      2. The prosecution (the person who gave the fine) has to defend his own case.
      3. Judge Geoff will preside over all court cases. If the Judge is not present, a vote will go to the jury.
      4. If the defendant wins, the prosecution has the original fine.
      5. If the prosecution wins, the defendant has double the fine.
    3. Standard Fines may not be argued in a court of cunts. However, the Fines Master has the right to reverse a Standard Fine if deemed kak.
    4. Permission must be given to go to the bathroom or to vomit.
    5. Fines Chairman has absolute power and can VETO any decision
  4. Songs
    1. If you add a NEW song to the meeting, you may nominate a Standard Fine.
    2. Everyone has to sing the song being sung. Failure to do so will be a Standard Fine.
    3. The Song Master may nominate people to sing a song. If the person does not have a song, they will join the fine being given.
  5. Scilachi
    1. Scilachi may hand out Punishers at will. His power is absolute and can only be overturned by the Fines Master.
  6. Pourer
    1. The Pourer will be the newest person in the group and will be made to pour the fines and punishers. If his skills are left wanting during this important task he will be punished with a Major Fine each time.
  7. Mr & Mrs BCL
    1. This will be a group vote
    2. All nominees to get half a beer
    3. ‘Winners’ will take part in a Boat Race
    4. Awards are:
      1. Mr. BCL – the person who embodies the spirit of BCL
      2. Mrs. BCL – the person who was/is the biggest wet of the year
